Sunil Shanbag
Sunil Shanbag is a Mumbai based theatre director and producer. He is the co-founder and artistic director of Theatre Arpana, and Tamaasha Theatre. Over the past 35 years, Sunil’s work across various genres of theatre practice has been engaging with and presenting the complex nature of contemporary India, on stage as well as in various alternative spaces. His work spans across themes and issues that concern modern Indian society, across class, caste, gender and other inequalities. Sunil has been actively involved in theatre in education projects. He has held workshops on theatre techniques for aspiring actors and directors, and for school and post-graduate teachers. Sunil Shanbag is also a documentary film-maker and producer with several independent films to his credit. His film, Maihar Raag, won the National Award for best non-fiction film in 1993. Sunil Shanbag will be providing his insights and mentorship to the selected applicants of Abhivyakti Edition 3.Curator
Arpita Dhagat
A Founder Member of Astitva Art Foundation, Arpita presently works as a Cultural Outreach Programmer with LEAF Foundation. She is a performer and performance maker, with a specialization in design and theatre techniques from the National School of Drama, New Delhi (2010-13). Arpita is keen on different mediums of artistic expression and how it changes the equation between the audience and the artist.Content Creator
AMIT KHUVA
Amit Khuva is the personification of the term "prodigy." A stand-up comedian, Amit has been making people laugh with his insights and punches since the age of 7. The India Book of Records has recognized him as the youngest comedian of India. He has been featured in various TV shows and is globally acclaimed for his sense of humor. Amit Khuva's enthusiasm for humour is seen in his extensive understanding of the genre. He has mastered 38 types of comedy and is presently working on his PhD in the 39th. He is also the founder of India’s First Comedy Training Academy and has proficiently trained many comedians across the globe. Amit’s comedy binds people in a harmony of laughter and his insights and observations are versatile enough that his jokes are relevant from a 5-year-old child to an 80-year-old man. Nayan Bhil is a puppeteer, writer, and theatre artist from Ahmedabad. He has performed major colour shadow puppet shows at the inaugural function of Bhadra Fort in Ahmedabad, at the opening ceremony of Swaminarayan Art college Anand, Vibrant Gujarat and so on. Apart from the shows, he conducts puppetry workshops in different NGOs and schools.
