For his third piece of theater work, Shakti has conceptualized Gauri e Gaam Gajvyu, a satire highlighting the core issue of today’s political propagandas that use cows as a vote bank rather than a poised holy symbol of Hinduism. It is interesting to know that Shakti’s initial concept for Abhivyakti was something different; while his current one was just something he presented on the spot to the committee of Abhivyakti and was instantly approved. The play’s humorous narrative has it all – name smearing and larger than life manifestos, all of which is embellished with the flavor of local spoken language. The counter narratives of social stigmas, and subtle undertones of the vicious political world that we live in makes this piece of work, a true breath of fresh air.
