Nabibaksh Mansoori
The master of exuberant paintings and narrating tales using the finest symphony of colours, Nabibakhsh Mansoori is a pioneer in the field of visual artistic expression. Looking at the world through his kaleidoscope of colour, skewed and layered imagery, his paintings draw the viewer into a different dimension. In his longing to recreate the lively colours as seen through the prism, Nabibakhsh uses his preferred medium - oil on canvas.
The dramatic use of light, unconventional perspectives and bold crisp colours make his paintings distinctive in nature. Amongst numerous prestigious awards in his name, two prominent awards include the Bendre-Husain Scholarship Award by the Bombay Art Society and the Fellowship Award (visual arts) by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Dept. of Cultures, New Delhi. With many laurels to his credit, he has also hosted various solo shows at national and international levels in the cities of Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, New Delhi, London, etc.
Highly influencing his thoughts that his brushes beautifully express on the canvas are the mesmerizing visuals of nature. From mountains and birds to phenomenons like rainbows and mirages - his art is an exemplary representation of all these myriad expressions. Assisting M.F.Husain, the Picasso of India, during his work at ‘Amdavad Ni Gufa’ and being a part of 'Painted Words', an event held to commemorate the Ahmedabad Heritage Week his work has certainly made a lasting impact on the city’s culture as well as on the nation.
