Paulom Mistry’s has been involved in experimental music since he can remember. “Sounds excite me & I can’t help but find a rhythmic pattern in everything I hear” he says.

He brings his love for sounds to Abhivyakti Edition -2 in the form of a composition he calls ‘In search of sonic identity’, The idea for this piece came while he was at his second home in Brooklyn NY, a city filled with unique sounds. He took this concept up and decided put it in perspective of his home town Vadodara. He quotes while describing the piece that, “Every city has its history, but little do people know that it also has its own unique sonic texture”. His piece will take this very sonic texture and take the audience on a trip down the memory lane, using sounds that we’ve all heard while growing up, some of which have been lost with time, and replaced by newer, more bellowed and prominent versions. Without revealing a lot he says that he will be using a lot of ‘toys’ (what he fondly calls his sound props) to make the sounds on stage, combined with various recorded sounds to create the ambience for his composition.
