Tarjani is a trained classical singer with master’s degree in Indian Classical Music (Vocals) and is currently pursuing her P. HD in Music, under the guidance of her mentors Bhavdeep Jaipurwale and Dr. Chetana Banavat.

She comes to Abhivyakti with a strong concept that dives into human emotions when they hear a particular sound for the first time. She says that “whenever we hear a sound, we compare the rhythmic patterns of something familiar, sort of like Déjà vu, and I will be presenting the same concept with Indian music”. Taking the base of classical tarana singing, an important part of Indian Classical music, and Tarjani’s style of choic, she will meld her composition with doohas/chandhs to give context to her concept. She adds to this concept by saying that “I also intend to show that learning classical music is not as easy as today’s reality show driven programs portray it to be. There is music beyond the silver screen – music and Classical Music is the base of every Bollywood composition. I simply want people to break from the herd and listen to something new.” Tarjani will be singing the taranas herself, aided by folk singers who will add their voice to the doha and chand recitals.
