Jigna Dixit, a dynamic young Kathak dancer lights up the stage with her charm and enthusiasm. She is trained under renowned Kathak duo Guru shri Maulik Shah – Guru shri Ishira Parikh from Ahmedabad. Her initial training was under late Shri Dharamshibhai Shah from Bhavnagar. She was deputed as a Kathak dance teacher and performer for two years at Embassy of India in Poland by ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations). She is also empaneled artist of ICCR. She is a laureate of Young Artistes Scholarship Award by the Ministry of Human Resources Development –Government of India. She is honored with a Nritya Vilasini award by Nrithyathi foundation. She is Master’s degree holder in Kathak dance from Saurashtra University. She has also done her Visharad (Bachelor) & Alankar (Master) from Gandharv Mahavidhyalay Mumbai. She has worked as a principle dancer and faculty member of Anart foundation in Ahmedabad; she has also served as Kathak dance lecturer at JG Performing Arts College in, Ahmedabad. She has performed under ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) with Anart Dance Company in Egypt and Libya. She has performed at International Cairo film festival in Egypt. Jigna has performed at prestigious KAL KE KALAKAR FESTIVAL held by Gujarat Sangeet Natak Academy She has won the 1st Prize in Yuva Mahotsav, awarded by the Cultural Department of Gujarat Government. She also performed at a famous worldwide production of ‘Romeo & Juliet’ by Pt. Birju Maharaj & shri Saswati Sen.
